Stumbling blocks
In some cities in Germany, metal cubes can be found on the pavements outside front doors. They are engraved with the names of Jewish citizens who lived here during the Nazi era and were then deported to concentration camps and murdered. These "stumbling blocks" are intended to commemorate this terrible time.

In my picture, it was the couple Sofie and Julius Siegbert * 1875 and 1877, who were deported to the Piaski concentration camp in 1942.
