#vertical This pillory in my home town, is until now the oldest known in the Low Lands (The Netherlands and Flanders in Belgium). It is mentioned in an old document of 1414. The document mentions a farm labourer being convicted to the pillory because he raped a local maiden. In the old farm house you see behind, the court was sitting at the first floor at that time.
