I took this photo in Homer, Alaska. It was an early start to the day that required sitting still in place for a few hours. I walked away with lots of photo's but this was the close-encounter. When this eagle flew in to perch, its wing was within a few inches of my head...to the point I could feel the air-wash from its wings upon landing. It was a spectacular sight with more than 200 eagles that ranged from young eagles with brown heads (change white at 2yrs old) to older ones that ruled the vantage points.
